Brush Cutters - These have a straight shaft and the cutting head is usually driven by a solid drive shaft which makes it possible to fit a metal cutting blade for heavier cutting work. Most machines will accept attachments including the pole hedge cutter.
Strimmers - These usually have a bent shaft and the cutting head is driven by a flexible drive shaft and are suitable for edge trimming and light duty weed clearance. Machines vary in power from 300w to 1000w.
